Meet Dr. Acosta
Dr. Denise Acosta grew up in Elyria, Ohio on the west side of Cleveland and graduated from Elyria West High School in 1992. She then ventured onto Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York and earned a B.A. in biochemistry. Dr. Acosta gained real world work experience as a pharmacology research assistant at UK College of Pharmacy in Lexington, Kentucky. She then went onto UK College of Dentistry earning her D.M.D.
Once moving to the area in 2005 Dr. Acosta worked at Neighborhood Health Clinic for 13 years and spent the following 5 years in private practice in Fort Wayne and Leo.
These days Dr. Acosta calls Decatur home. She has two sons, Quentin and Alton, four cats, and one wonderful boyfriend, David. You can often find her with the boys at the Monroe baseball fields, Adams Central Marching Band competitions, or 4H events.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Acosta enjoys swimming, reading, bourbon tasting, and live music. She is also a member of the Isaac Knapp District Dental Society and American Dental Association.
